Ten years ago, I came to Singapore from Indonesia, knowing that I wanted to be somebody that will contribute to society. I wanted to fulfill that by helping and providing care to people who are in need.
Having been always motivated to help others, and care for them, I found my passion in nursing. While it can be challenging, it is also extremely rewarding to see the smiles on the faces of those whom I manage to help along the way. I try always to ensure my patients' comfort and health during their treatment process, and strive to provide good care to my patients. Being able to guide patients along and provide them a pathway towards achieving a healthier state in life, is something which I find meaningful.
To top it off, the life of a nurse is never boring! I find that in my line of work, there are opportunities to learn new things everyday. I have come to realize that the best learning platform is to learn from my colleagues and patients. They inspire me to explore and seek a deeper knowledge, be it in the form of techniques or procedures. The combination of the ability to help others and the potential to enjoy a stable job continues to push me to pursue a career in healthcare, where I hope I will be able to grow professionally.
